Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to Marin Preda (1922-1980), the most important post-World War II Romanian writer, who knew how to paint in a pictorial way a world of the traditional village with problems of people and of the history of time. The work briefly reflects moments from Marin Preda life, activity, as well as from the work of the prose writer, essayist, dramatur, publicist, translator.
