Summary/Abstract: The present paper discusses the fact that linguistic structures of the poetic text in Maramures, irrespective of the level we take into discussion (textual, phonetic, lexical, or grammatical), they all contain explicitly or implicitly hallmarks of expressiveness – which, unveiled, can be classified as matrix or employed comparatively to other reference systems: the poetic language of Romanian folk poetry, to the extent that there is sufficient data, language-code and the idiom as sub-code.
