Summary/Abstract: The annexation of the Golan Heights represented a new stage in the Arab-Israeli conflict. If following the Camp David Agreements, Israel has managed to persuade a part of the international community that its only objective was to achieve lasting peace with its neighbors and to protect the security and integrity of its borders, after the unilateral decision to annex the Golan region, Israel's traditional supporters had to draw attention to the fact that such actions are meant only to further destabilize the situation in the Middle East. And this time, Romanian diplomats had a firm stance, in line with the UN Security Council resolutions, and condemned the Israeli action by drawing attention to the adverse consequences that this kind of precedent might have on all states in the region and not only.
