Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with elements of the "Dwelling" trope in Greg Garrard's Ecocriticism, as it is present in Joseph Conrad's fiction: "thresholds" as viewed in Bakhtin analysis as spaces to the outside and to the inside. and "artefacts" in Object Oriented Ontology and in dark ecology as represented in the same literary works, standing for man-made second nature.
