PUBLICIST THOUGHT OF DAVIT KASRADZE

Summary/Abstract: Davit Kasradze, who appeared in the public arena at the end of the 20th century, makes a remarkable contribution to the rapprochement of the Georgian and Ossetian people and the deepening of the Georgian-Ossetian cultural traditions. The problems posed in his texts continue to be relevant. The whole work of the writer serves the development of national culture and native literature, he tries to deepen it. He fights to protect classical literary traditions. From each line of D. Kasradze, the perversity of the outdated era of Tsar's Russia, the indolence of spiritually degraded officials, the servants of the time-consuming system, the unbearable life of the poorest strata of society can be clearly seen. The writer sees the main vein of his work in trying to shake the dormant national strings. He deeply believes that this is the only way of salvation. Davit Kasradze was born in 1885 in the village Avnevi in the Prone gorge. After graduating from the Gori Theological School, he continued his studies at the Tbilisi Art School, and later at the University of Paris at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature. Since the first years of the 20th century, Davit Kasradze had been active in the artistic arena. He cooperates with the editors of a number of periodical publishers. His letters are printed in such magazines and newspapers as: „Klde“, „Sakartvelo“, „Mnatobi“, „Public Newspaper“, „Jejili“, „Literature and Art“, „Sinatle“ and etc. Some of the materials are printed with the author's signature, and some with pseudonyms: „Kartleli“, „Diogeni“, „X“, „Kandidi“, „De-Ka“, „Kenti“ and etc. Kasradze is actively involved in everyday life, he observes the events with the eyes of a strict critic, unhesitatingly exposes the shortcomings of public existence and looks for ways out. Despite the shortcomings, his eye does not overlook the daily life of significant literary processes and tells the reader with delight about each positive note..
