Summary/Abstract: The shift to remote learning in times of the pandemic forced language educators to embrace more contemporary forms and methods of teaching. The aim of this article is to particularly discuss the use of Anglicism-Abundant metalanguage in teaching online German classes. The current study analyses lexical materials collected from top popular learning platforms namely, The analysis of the employed corpus data was based on extracting and categorising the borrowings from the English language. The main argument that this paper presents is that familiarising students with vocabulary that allows them to communicate in a foreign language during a remote lesson is important for increasing their motivation and learning effectiveness. To address this, the current article concludes by offering language teachers supporting exercises in both traditional and self-checking online forms that contain useful lexical material for handling remote lessons.
