Summary/Abstract: Emerging from the “numinous fantastic”, The Other side by Alfred Kubin invites the reader to take part in the mystery of the sacred, through the initiation journey of the hero who, installed at the heart of a suprareality created by an excessive demiurge, looks far into the depths of monstrosity and explores the unbearable, in order to re-signify a life marked by the influence of a destructive fate. The existential quest of the main character reveals the writer’s metamorphosis as well as the generation of the fantastic which unveils itself as the ultimate place of a transforming encounter, reflecting the author’s will to unite emotional and discursive knowledge.
