Good practices in teaching foreign languages at universities

Summary/Abstract: Until recently, in the Polish academic community, there was no possibility of external assessment of the quality of foreign language teaching at Universities. The situation changed in 2020, when the Association of Academic Language Centers SERMO created an environmental accreditation system and appointed the SERMO Accreditation Committee. The article presents the concept, goals and benefits of obtaining SERMO accreditation and the results of the first accreditation procedure conducted, despite the ongoing pandemic. The priority of this publication is to promote good didactic practices used in the Department of Foreign Languages at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
