Summary/Abstract: Products sold at retail on the EU market must have the following mandatory information on the label: product name; list of ingredients of the product (with a mandatory indication of the additives present); net weight of the product, shelf life (for perishable goods - 'use before', for other goods - 'best before...'), method of use; method of storing and preparing the product; data on the producer and/or importer of goods; data on the origin of the goods, where the absence of that information may lead the consumer to the wrong conclusion; product batch number; an indication that the product was under the influence of radiation. It should be borne in mind that some member states of the Union impose additional conditions for labeling products. FR Yugoslavia, which aspires to become a member of the EU, must adapt its labeling regulations to the regulations valid in the EU. Our exporters must label products according to EU rules in this area so that they can be placed on the EU market. Often, some labels are not legally prescribed, but they greatly influence the degree of competitiveness of our products on the EU market.
