Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses central issues of reconciliation and compromise in Taiwanese political culture in the second half of the 20th and at the beginning of the 21st centuries. It analyses structural conditions and normative factors shaping internal processes of reconciliation and compromise, while spelling out external implications for international relations, cross-strait and regional aspects included.
