Summary/Abstract: The modernism of the ancient world is highlighted differently by historians, some of them have depicted the wealth of the different areas and of the Roman Empire, others have presented the commercial circuit and the flow of products that dominate the ancient world. Mihail I. Rostovtzev compares the city of Alexandria in antiquities with the city of Paris in the eighteenth century. Also, historians speak about the unity of the Roman world, which is the basis of economic unity. Therefore it can be said that the economy of the ancient world had the supremacy of the modernist model.
