Summary/Abstract: The pastoral care of the Catholic Church shows characteristics similar to service activities, especially non-commercial ones. For this reason, in pastoral activity it is possible to apply, to a limited extent, the instruments and strategies characteristic of service marketing. In the first part of the article the marketing of services is characterised and the characteristics of services are indicated. In the second part the instruments of service marketing are presented and possibilities of their application in pastoral ministry are shown. In the third part service marketing strategies that can be used in the activity of the Church are presented. Particular attention is paid to partnership marketing, in some respects resembling pastoral ministry.
