Summary/Abstract: The article presents the figure of Mikołaj Karp (c. 1559–1621), the owner of the Nowosiółki estate in the Vawkavysk (Polish: Wołkowysk) district, Dublany Raducicze estate in the Grodno district, and Kurtowiany and Rykijów estates in Samogitia. In addition, the aim is to show the factors enabling him to pursue the career of a district official and to indicate the reasons for his migrating to Samogitia.
