Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe the cultural identity of the individual, to show it forming factors. The research rests on the presumption, that the identity of the individual is indivisible as a whole, but can be described from different points of view, thus making a sort of partial identities, such as cultural, social, political, confessional. In general outline the cultural identity of the individual is to great extend defined by the concepts of a man prevalent in the culture where an individual lives. The following analysis shows, that the cultural identity of the individual can be defined as a sort of derivative of such factors as the subjectivity of the individual, social environment and cultural influencies. This is a lifelong process, beginning in the family and in the school, later depending on which cultural values the individual prefers and identifies himself with. The cultural identity of the individual is characterised comparing it the individuals social identity. Keywords: individual, identity, culture, sociality.
