Summary/Abstract: Can correspondence from the 19th century have historical value? By specifying the thematic scope and quotations from letters exchanged between Józef Ignacy Kraszewski and Karol Estreicher for the years 1867–1886, I try to prove that this collection can be the subject of biographical, historical, bibliological and social communication research.
