Summary/Abstract: The article deals with a number of controversial issues of Lithuanian phonology. Attention is paid to the phonological interpretation of (1) peripheral phonemes, (2) vowel quantity, (3) diphthongs (especially the rising diphthongs /ie/ and /uo/), (4) affricates and (5) the correlation of palatalization.
