Summary/Abstract: One of the most widely spoken languages in the world is Spanish, which has a significant number of speakers in Central and South America. The diversity of the Spanish language in its various geographical features on the Central and South American continent has stimulated the studies and the academic and popular attention for more than a century. Although there are characteristics that differentiate Spanish in Latin America from the standard language from Spain, the Spanish language has acquired at all levels its own physiognomy in contact with the peninsular Spanish, without losing the unity in essence.
