Summary/Abstract: The paper examines family violence by critical analysis of the legislation in force. It specifically highlights the nonexistence of the overall legal regime for this problem in Serbia. The author analyses the relevant provisions of the Family Act and the Criminal Code. Finally, the author concludes that the existing measures and insufficient and suggests the statutory amendments which would prescribe rules regarding family violence in a more efficient manner.
