Summary/Abstract: The goal of the present paper is to deeply explore the ancient and propensity field of the zoomorphic theme, in the contemporary writer Nicolae Breban’s creative universe, having in view his last novel, “Frica” (“Fear”). On the one hand, the symbiosis human-animal highlights the metamorphosis of the characters, brutalized, because of the fear and the will of power, settled in their sick consciousnesses. On the other hand, the same mirror, which reflects the soul’s abyss, reveals the zoological brushes, through which the puppets, hunters and resigned victims, bear with the tragic caricature process of the world, as a result of the actions of a worm-eaten political and social system, which infects not only the author, and, through him, the character, but also the reader.
