Quality of Vocational Education and Training in the Context of European and National Policies and Practices

Summary/Abstract: A series of normative documents approved within the frameworks of the European Union /EU/ in the field of education determine two main objectives of the educational policy: equal access to education and quality education. European initiatives, which face the challenges of rapid changes in economy and society, define the quality of vocational education and training /VET/ as a key factor for the sustainable social and economic development. This article considers the existing modern European and national policies and the measures taken to encourage and monitor the continuous improvement of VET systems in the EU.
