Summary/Abstract: The article supplements the author's proposal for a technical pension reform with the results of the analysis of indexation systems and the reduction of old-age pensions. The author considers the basic general problem of Czech „pension insurance“ to be the non-transparency and incomprehensibility of the system not only for ordinary clients, but also for politicians. He therefore recommends dividing the whole reform process into two steps: a small reform and a major reform. The small (technical) pension reform would focus on the simple but fundamental rationalisation of the basic and percentage amounts of the pensions. The major pension reform would result in a comprehensive, paradigmatic reform of the old-age, disability and survivors' pensions. The percentage amount of the old-age pension would become an independent pension pillar of social insurance, optimally with the construction of the Austrian pension account, also with a separate pension age and indexation system and a significantly shorter minimum insurance period (5 years).
