In Search of Atlantis

Summary/Abstract: A presentation of the first years of the activity of Teatr Węgajty and the processes of moulding culture by the new settlers during the 1980s in the provincial conditions of the Warmia region. Work carried out by the theatre is depicted within the perspective of the natural and cultural landscape. The theatrical activity of Erdmute and Wacław Sobaszek is described in the context of the socio-cultural transformations of Warmia. The postulates of alternative artists attempting to construct Atlantis were confronted with the myth creation potential of former Eastern Prussia.
