Summary/Abstract: In 1975, the un General Assembly declared the years 1975–1985 the Decade for Women, at the same time announcing a World Plan of Action for women’s equal rights as well as their participation in development programmes and the struggle for peace. The article analyses the process of the Polish delegation’s preparations for the second world conference on women, which took place in Copenhagen in 1980 under the title Equality-Development-Peace. Aspects and procedures of the conference’s organisation have been presented, as well as the composition and the key objectives of the Polish governmental delegation in the light of documents of the National Council of Polish Women.
