The image of a pedagogical therapist in public opinion

Summary/Abstract: Objectives:The research efforts were aimed at obtaining an answer to the question: What is the image of a pedagogical therapist in the public opinion?Material and methods:In order to find out the opinion, the diagnostic survey method was used.The research allowed to draw attention to the importance of min. personal characteristics of the pedagogical therapist, his skills or body language in the process of pedagogical therapy.Results:The conducted research shows that both the personality traits of the pedagogical therapist, his skills, body language play a very important role in the therapeutic process in the opinion of the respondents.Conclusions:The profession of therapist is particularly important and much needed, but it seems crucial to prepare for the profession of therapist, therefore it seems advisable to undertake further research indicating what type of activities should be undertaken in educating future pedagogical therapists to meet the requirements of contemporary needs.
