Summary/Abstract: The objective of the present article is to identify and assess gender disproportions in elections to the Senate of the Republic of Poland in single member constituencies (SMC) in 2011, 2015 and 2019. The subject literature expresses an opinion that SMCs exclude women from the bodies of the legislative power, because it is much less likely that they will be appointed candidates in the party structures dominated by men. The lack of empirical data regarding gender disparities in three elections to the Senate of the Republic of Poland prompted us to conduct research in this area. The article presents the results of the analysis of the participation of women in the Polish Senate elections, which were held ten times since the "round table" talks, with particular emphasis on the election campaigns and their results in 2011, 2015 and 2019, i.e. after the introduction of the SMCs.
