On Aristotle’s use of the concept «ὄργανον» in a biological context

Summary/Abstract: Aristotle was the first anсient philosopher who proved necessity of instrumental explanation of body, using the concept ὄργανον in a biological context. The purpose of the paper is to make clear the reasons and the limits of the analogy between parts of body and tools as artifacts. My research is focused on their common essence and status among efficient causes on the one hand and its different efficient and final causes on the other hand.
