Summary/Abstract: Türkiye-Syria relations throughout recent history in line with the historical and cultural ties and various political conflicts between the two countries. In this article, Türkiye’s foreign policy towards Syria is examined within the framework of two important historical crises. The first of these crises is the 1957 border crisis between Türkiye and Syria in the Cold War context, and the other one is the ongoing Syrian War, in which the Syrian civil war, which had started with the “Arab Spring” uprisings, has turned into a multi-actor proxy war. In this article the nature, sources and consequences of the change in Türkiye’s Syria policy are examined within the framework of the transformation in Turkish foreign policy.
