Summary/Abstract: The results of the study of the sociаl and cultural adaptation of women in interethnic marriage in the North Caucasus found that the preference for a biethnic family organization (marrying representatives of other cultures) results in a number of personal difficulties. The clash of different ideas about the world, mentalities, and moral norms leads to the need for their conjugation at the level of individual consciousness and psychological adaptation to a different system of social constructs, values and meanings. Successful socio-cultural adaptation at the macro level is a reflection and result of interethnic adaptation at the micro level. The basis of this adaptation is considered to be intra-family ethnic assimilation. The effectiveness of women’s socio-cultural adaptation in a new ethnic environment is significantly influenced by multiple social factors, which include ideological regulations, ethnic and cultural traditions of gender-role behavior, features of parental scenarios of upbringing, the level and direction of the received education.
