Summary/Abstract: The functional styles of the Bulgarian literary language regulate the selection of language methods in different social spheres, so that the conditions of communication can be successfully fulfilled. In this sense, the sociolinguistic prerequisites for the development of a given style in the language reveal the mechanisms for the impact of social factors on the language and the role it plays in economic, cultural and political direction. The article traces sociolinguistic prerequisites related to the emergence of the administrative style in connection with the need to serve the needs of newly emerging institutions in the first decade after 1878 – schools, community centers, various types of companies, organizations, commercial, law firms. The article also traces the need for terms and formal linguistic constructions through which the human-institution relationship is realized.
