Summary/Abstract: Most of the students I work with are bilingual Roma. Not particularly studious, they are nevertheless keen to acquire communicative skills. In my work I face challenges of a different nature – lack of motivation, difficult student-to-teacher communication, inappropriate teaching materials, insufficient vocabulary and poor knowledge of Bulgarian grammar. My ambition is through the use of role-playing games in Bulgarian language training in the fifth grade in this multiethnic environment to increase students' motivation to communicate using the Bulgarian speech etiquette; to assimilate and consolidate their knowledge, skills and habits for the use of formal expressions. Thanks to role-playing games the material taught in class becomes more interesting, accessible and useful.
