Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the situation of the collection coming from the Vilnius Belarusian Museum named after Ivan Luckievič in the museum collections of the BSSR. Based on a query conducted in the museum archives, the author presents the elimination process of the exhibits, expert opinions prepared by the museum staff to justify this necessity, and doubts concerning the objective approach to the research. The comparison of documents from different museums allowed to find out the fate of some exhibits after the elimination and to restore their origin story.
