Summary/Abstract: The article contributes to the ongoing discussion considering the difficulties of effectively visualizing debates and the argumentation status in competitive debates as a particular speech genre saturated with argumentative and quasi-argumentative phenomena. The Toulmin argument model was used to analyze arguments expressed in the speeches comprising the constructed corpus of competitive debates. It enabled us to present the role of enthymematic premises and the concept of an annotation scheme that incorporates them.
