Summary/Abstract: Ömer Seyfettin (1884-1920) has an important place in Turkish storytelling. Ömer Seyfettin, who turns to the national one in Turkish storytelling, tries to reveal the world of values of the Turkish nation by starting from the national one. There are rules/values that give order to societies. These rules/values that give order to societies; religious, moral, etiquette and legal rules/values. Ömer Seyfettin deals with the problems of the society/individual in his stories. Ömer Seyfettin is aware that the main thing that drives the individual/society to extinction is the ignorance of the national values that make the individual/society exist by the individual/society. In Ömer Seyfettin's stories, while the individual/family/society that nullifies the values of the society is dragged to the brink of extinction, the individual/family/society that makes these values exist also makes themselves exist together with the values. Since the author is a part of society, his literary creation reflects the society to which he belongs. Sociology of literature tries to reveal the relationship between literature and society by examining the reflections of society on the literary work and the literary work on the society.
