Summary/Abstract: The self that corresponds to the answers given to the question "Who am I?" is embodied in the body. The self necessarily requires a body. This study focuses on the relationship between body and self, by means of a phenomenological body-centered reading. In this context, the concepts of embodiment, living body and conscious body in the phenomenological body approach, the concept of self in social psychology and symbolic interactionism, and Anthony Giddens' concept of reflexive self are used as a basis to evaluate the relationship between body and self. In this sense, the aim of the study is to describe the relationship between body and self.
