Summary/Abstract: The literature about the detention period became a challenge beginning with 1990. The prison experience elucidates the mystery of the good lived during the communism and offers a different face to the history known until then. Through his volumes of memories, Teohar Mihadaș helps to recover the hidden past, highlights information about prisons, portraits of investigators and respondents in a realistic way. The relationship between history and fiction is the problem of this type of literature. Although it presents facts that can be proven historically, the confessional character, the intensity of the story and the emotion of living bring the memorialistic writings closer to literature.
