Summary/Abstract: In the Romanian literature, Eminescu’s lyric poetry was permanently in the attention of literary critics, it aroused different opinions over time. In the following our aim is to follow the way in which Eminescu’s poetry was perceived by literary critics both from the thematic point of view and from a historical point of view. In the first phase we will refer to the one who was his mentor and who promoted the young poet of the past, namely, Maiorescu, who, in the study dedicated to Eminescu’s poetry entitled “Eminescu and his poems” (1889) defined the profile of genius in general, but also of the great poet: ”What Eminescu was and became is the result of his innate genius, which was too strong in his own being to have diverted him from any contact with the world in his natural way.” According to Maiorescu, G. Călinescu is the one who paid special attention to the poet in Mihai Eminescu's Opera where he wants to mirror Eminescu's vision and thinking of a special depth. Thus, through the depth of thought and the perfection of form, through the cultivation of unique themes, motives and ideas, Eminescu's poetry is the first great model of poetic universe in Romanian lyric poetry. I will also refer to critics such as D. Popovici, who considered the poet as a singular appearance, differentiating himself from any other great European writer, or to Pompiliu Constantinescu, who considered it necessary to have a global critical vision on Eminescu's poetry. Finally, I will discuss points of view formulated by critics such as: D. Caracostea, Romul Munteanu, Paul Cornea or Ioana Em. Petrescu, who propose unique methods for researching Eminescu's lyricism.
