Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is an analysis of the Polish version of the Ratatouille – animated film, which takes place largely in the back room of a Parisian restaurant. I chose semantically related vocabulary and proper names present in the film (title, names and surnames). The analysis reveals the domination of the discussed lexis in the verbal layer of the film: 97 lexemes related to cooking. The collected lexemes are arranged into 5 semantic fields, among which the number and frequency of the field related to the types of eaten dishes dominate. The conducted analysis proves that in the selection of both the lexical and onimic layers, the filmmakers were guided by the needs of the recipient of the animation, which is diverse in terms of age.
