Summary/Abstract: The article presents the meaning and geographical range of the dialect word zalewajka. Zalewajka is a soup made of potatoes and sour soup (also known as white borscht). Zalewajka was certified in large part of Mazovia, in the Lublin region, in Rzeszów region, in Kujawy, in eastern Wielkopolska, in Łódzkie and Kieleckie, from where the range of the word reaches the vicinity of Dąbrowa Górnicza and villages near Kraków. This is illustrated by the map attached to the article.
