Summary/Abstract: Ovidiu, The Latin poet, has always been popular among Romanians, because his writings contain attestations about one of the oldest eras of our country and the circumstances of that time, made by someone who was on the spot and communicates personal impressions. The chroniclers thus knew how to value the special value of Ovidian sources. Ovidiu Drimba, at the urging of Tudor Vianu, returns to the poet's figure, with a biography that groups all the testimonies collected from ovidian opera, along with the conclusions of contemporary researchers. Facts, paintings of society, both in Rome and at Pontus Euxinus, as well as the life of the poet, are presented.
