Summary/Abstract: The prophetic institution in Israel was imperative for the Israelites to maintain their monotheistic faith in a historical register full of pagan deities. The prophets made known to the entire Jewish people the blessings or rebukes that God sent because of their fall into idolatry or other major sins. One of the most well-known Old Testament prophets is Isaiah, who in due course conveyed the divine will to the Jews. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to understand the historical context in which Isaiah was active, the social-political-religious turmoil of his time. Later, in the second part of this work, we will analyze the deep meaning of the term Ebed-Yahweh, as well as the opinions of several theologians on it. The prophet Isaiah will undoubtedly remain one of the best known and perhaps the most important prophet of The Old Testament (after John The Baptist), because of the many messianic prophecies, receiving the nickname: The Evangelist of The Old Testament.
