Summary/Abstract: The authoress presents the history of creation and indyvidual departments of the Kalisz Lan District Museum in Kalisz, with particular emphasis on their oldest parts, i.e. artefacts collected in the pre-war Kalisz Land Museum. She proves that the basis of the institution’s collection is the old (pre-war) legacy – lost, but partially recovered after World War II. The resercher presents the topic on examples, outlining possibile directions for provenance research.
