Summary/Abstract: Especially in recent years, in the modern education process, research is being conducted on new education-teaching places outside of school in order to enable students to be active and learn by experience. Out-of-school learning environments where students go beyond the classical teaching methods in the school, open up all senses and perceptions and actively learn by doing and experiencing, include a wide range of living spaces, but not limited with school/classroom activities of educational activities such as art and science centers, museums, art galleries, libraries, planetariums, streets and parks. As a result of the literature review, it was found out that researches were conducted on the learning environments outside the school, but the majority of these studies were determined to have an impact on the achievement, skills, interests and attitudes of the students and on the views of science teachers and teacher candidates in the field of Science. However, there are no studies dealing with photography courses as an out-of-school learning environment. Therefore, the aim of this research is to obtain information about the opinions of the trainees who take basic photography courses by registering to a photo course and learning outside the school and classroom environment. The study group of the research consists of 18 trainees who taking Basic Photography course in Ankara Photography Artists Association in 2019. In order to determine the opinions of trainees about out-of-school learning, a questionnaire with open-ended questions was applied and the data obtained analyzed by content analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis methods. Based on the results of the research findings, relevant suggestions was included to subject.
