Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this study is to determine the direct and indirect effects of strategic and transformational leadership styles on individual performance. In this context, the health sector, on which relatively little work has been done, was preferred and the reasons for this situation were explained in particular. The purpose of the study is to better understand the problems of health workers and to find solutions to these problems. Design/methodology/approach – The research was conducted within the central and provincial districts of Malatya province. Within the scope of the research, information was collected from health workers working in public and private hospitals through simple random sampling. After the results obtained were passed through a series of screenings, 297 questionnaire forms were analyzed. SPSS-21 and AMOS-24 programs were used in the analysis of the effect of strategic and transformational leadership on individual performance within the scope of the research. In this context; normality, validity and factor analysis, and correlation values with the SPSS 21 program; Goodness of fit values and structural equation analyses were carried out with the AMOS 24 program. Results – According to the findings obtained; it has been seen that strategic and transformational leadership styles have positive and significant effects on individual performance. In addition, it has seen that strategic leadership positively and significantly effects transformational leadership. Finally, the mediation effect of transformational leadership in the effect of strategic leadership on individual performance was tested and significant results were obtained, either. Discussion – Due to the nature of their profession, healthcare professionals undertake critical tasks under intense stress, and this has a negative impact on individual performance. Considering the OECD averages, it is seen that the effects of reducing individual performance are more in our country. Due to the results of this study; strategic and transformational leadership approaches significantly increase individual performance, strategic leadership effects transformational leadership and transformational leadership plays a mediating role in the effect of strategic leadership on individual performance.
