Summary/Abstract: Reinterpretations of Kant’s and Hegel’s philosophy in Fukuyama’s vision of global dominance of neoliberalism comprise the leitmotif of the submission. Utilizing the method of comparing source texts, authors of the submission call attention to the fact that Fukuyama’s references to social and political attitudes of Kant and Hegel are misrepresented and even misleading. This fact is demonstrated through Kant’s and Hegel’s understanding of freedom and democracy, which is clearly discrepant with Fukuyama’s, and also through differing visions of the ‘final point’ (goal) of social and political development of humanity around the globe. Special attention is given to the issue of understanding the phenomenon and term ‘civilization’ in a Euro-Atlantic and global context.
