Summary/Abstract: Art therapy uses methods and mechanisms for psycho-emotional stimulation of children and adults through art and art activities. It is a type of rehabilitation, based on the capabilities of human perception of the environment and its links with this environment in a symbolic form. Originally it was established as a therapeutic agent and was used with adults with motor and mental problems. Gradually it started to be applied with children using various art therapy techniques to draw their attention, form skills and stimulate the neuro- psychical and motor function through the forms and techniques of one or another kind of art. In recent years, art therapy is increasingly used in complex treatment and rehabilitation of a number of diseases and damages of the nervous system in children and adults. As a kind of therapy it is used in the social and educational field. It is used in the training of students from different disciplines - psychologists, teachers, rehabilitation therapists, therapists and others.
