The perspectives for the development of employee equity plans in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The implementation process of employee equity plans (PPK) fell between 2019 and 2021. Although the results of this programme in terms of the number of participants are so far much less impressive than expected when the legislation was introduced in 2018, the design of the PPK, of which automatic enrolment every four years is an integral part, should gradually increase the current participation rate. However, in view of the declining replacement rate from the universal system, further efforts are needed to popularise various forms of voluntary pension saving.
