Summary/Abstract: The given article focuses on a niche field of study, since it functions as a link or bridge between medicine as an exact science with solid empirical grounds and linguistics, which specialists tend to view as a rather theoretical domain. Besides the relatively low number of such works, its practical purpose and value are a strong reason for our attempt to write on this subject. Not only has the Coronavirus pandemic led us all into a frenzy of medical terms usage (just like medicines themselves, right?), but it has also made us think about the vital importance of translation and international communication. Therefore, the given paper is a concise analysis of the main difficulties that arise in translation process when dealing with medical texts, ranging from discrepancies in organizational structures, denomination and taxonomy of medical terms, to various problems, such as: neologisms, translation by transliteration and / or calque, false friends, synonymy and metonymy, rendering eponyms and acronyms or linguistic interference.
