Summary/Abstract: This article makes a short analysis of the two editions issued by Livius Ciocârlie. The book, called „Oldness and death in the 3rd millennium” is a reading diary but also a subjective essay. We tried to indicated the changes made by the author himself as he rewrote some fragments, or had a different perspective after 15 years (passed between the two editions). This paper also made a connection with the recent pandemic experience that affected our personal life; therefore, this type of book was much more interesting for a large area of readers due to themes as: death, illness, oldness. Finally, the message of this Romanian author is that a positive mind, and a curious one, helps you at any age, therefore the physical inactivity and reading books are a good remedy.
