Summary/Abstract: The class is a pedagogical space in which there is a permanent oscillation among three poles: teacher - student - knowledge. As a prototype of the interaction, the course involves an “expert” participant (the teacher) to share his knowledge with a less knowledgeable interlocutor (the student), through a well-regulated cognitive intervention. In fact, the whole activity in the classroom is based on the teaching contract between teacher and student, which regulates the obligations and expectations of every and each of them as well as the rules according to which the didactic interaction takes place. Recently introduced in the educational context, the term “mediation” (cognitive, linguistic or relational) aims to facilitate students' access to knowledge, the shaping of skills, attitudes, behaviors.
