Summary/Abstract: The description of the implied melodic theory contained in the Togolese traditional singing in all its ethnic and linguistic components updates the modal rich reflected by a powerful use of the pentatonic mode in its fundamental forms as hybrid and mixed forms. Beyond the analysis of melodic profiles reveals a matching between the melodic structure of traditional singing and prosodic structure of languages in tones of the region. This strong lineage between speech and song is the language emanation of a societal univocal basement and saturated of meaning that contributes to shaping the cultural uniqueness of these different peoples.
